Putrajaya, 27 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) marked the Awal Muharam celebration by distributing 1,000 packs of Asyura porridge through a community programme aimed at fostering unity and volunteerism among its staff.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi, the KPT Bubur Asyura Programme 1448H/2026M was organised by the PUSPANITA KPT Branch with the support of Surau Ibadurrahman KPT, Kelab Sukan & Kebajikan KPT, EduCafé KPT, and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
The annual programme featured a traditional rewang activity, with KPT Secretary-General YBhg. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Aminuddin Hassim joining staff in preparing the traditional dish.
Higher Education Minister YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir also attended the event, where he met with the organising committee and ministry personnel who had been working together since early morning.

The highlight of the programme saw 1,000 packs of Asyura porridge successfully prepared and distributed to ministry staff. The handover ceremony was officiated by PUSPANITA KPT Chairperson Datin Hajah Murni binti Muda, who is also the wife of the KPT Secretary-General.
The organisers expressed appreciation to all committee members, volunteers and strategic partners for their contributions in ensuring the programme’s success.
Held under the theme “Bersama Merewang, Berkongsi Rezeki, Menyemai Ukhuwah,” the initiative aimed to strengthen the spirit of volunteerism, mutual cooperation and unity among KPT staff while commemorating the month of Muharam. – The Capital Post.
