MTPIN strengthens climate action cooperation

KUALA LUMPUR, 8  July 2026 (The Capital Post) – Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi attended the Seventh Meeting of the National Climate Change Action Council (MTPIN) No. 1 for 2026 held at Parliament.

The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and attended by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Abang Openg, state leaders and members of the Cabinet.

The discussion served as an important platform to strengthen cooperation between the Federal Government and state governments in accelerating national climate change action while ensuring sustainability remains a key priority in Malaysia’s development agenda.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of translating climate change policies and initiatives into effective implementation to safeguard public well-being, environmental sustainability and the interests of future generations.
