JELEBU, 24 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) has conducted a site visit to monitor the progress of the Tapir Conservation Centre development project at the Kenaboi Forest Reserve State Park in Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan.
The visit was led by Deputy Secretary-General (Natural Resources) Datuk Khalid Mohamed, who assessed the project’s implementation to ensure it is progressing according to its approved scope, specifications and schedule.

The Tapir Conservation Centre is expected to strengthen conservation efforts for the Malayan tapir by providing more systematic and integrated conservation facilities.
NRES said the project will also support the country’s biodiversity conservation agenda while reinforcing the ministry’s commitment to protecting Malaysia’s natural heritage for future generations.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Kelestarian Alam (NRES), the site visit formed part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure the successful implementation of conservation initiatives nationwide. – The Capital Post.
