SABAH, July 25, 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS) under the Ministry of Defence organised the Jelajah Cakna Pertahanan programme in Pulau Banggi from July 22 to 24 to strengthen defence literacy and raise public awareness on the importance of safeguarding national sovereignty, particularly in strategically significant border areas.
The programme featured a series of activities, including the town hall session titled “Pulau Banggi Sovereignty: Empowering Border Communities, Defending National Sovereignty”, the Bicara Pertahanan forum, the Misi Cilik: Sayangi Negara programme, and a special screening of the film PASKAL.
The initiative brought together government agencies, security personnel, community leaders, parents, students and local residents to foster patriotism while strengthening cooperation between the government and the public through the Whole of Government and Whole of Society (WoGoS) approach.
