Anwar Attends Patriotism Programme with Military Personnel in Gemas

GEMAS, Negeri Sembilan, July 27, 2026 (The Capital Post) – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim attended the Semarak Kenegaraan programme with personnel at Kem Syed Sirajuddin on Monday as part of efforts to strengthen patriotism, national identity and unity among members of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).

The programme began with a visit to the Armed Forces Family Housing (RKAT) maintenance project at Block CF12, Garison Gemas Headquarters. During the visit, the Prime Minister was briefed on the implementation of civil and electrical maintenance works at the housing block.

Anwar later delivered an address and interacted with military personnel and their families at the Garison Gemas Hall, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting the welfare of members of the armed forces.

Also present were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar; Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari; Chief of Defence Forces General Tan Sri Malek Razak Sulaiman; Army Chief General Tan Sri Azhan Md Othman; as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and the Malaysian Armed Forces.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pertahanan Malaysia, the programme also included a briefing on the RKAT maintenance project, reflecting the government’s continued efforts to improve housing facilities and welfare for military personnel and their families.- The Capital Post
