TERENGGANU 3 August 2026, (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) has strengthened engagement with trade unions in Kelantan and Terengganu through a dialogue session aimed at enhancing tripartite cooperation between the government, employers, and workers’ representatives.
The two-day session, held from 2 to 3 August 2026, was led by KESUMA Secretary-General Azman Mohd Yusof, who emphasised the important role of trade unions as strategic partners in developing a progressive, inclusive, and sustainable labour market.
The dialogue served as a platform to discuss current employment challenges, including the impact of digitalisation, artificial intelligence (AI), and automation on the workforce. Participants also explored the need to strengthen upskilling and reskilling initiatives, improve social protection measures, enhance workers’ welfare, and address mental health concerns in the workplace.

Discussions also focused on expanding gig workers’ participation within the trade union ecosystem, strengthening organisational governance, encouraging the adoption of digital technology, and promoting consultation-based approaches to foster more harmonious industrial relations.
