KOTA KINABALU, Sabah, 7 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) continues to ensure that infrastructure repair and upgrading works at Politeknik Kota Kinabalu and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sabah Branch Kota Kinabalu Campus are carried out according to schedule and meet the required specifications to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of campus communities.
KPT Secretary-General YBhg. Datuk Ts. Dr. Haji Aminuddin Hassim conducted a monitoring visit to both institutions yesterday to review the progress of development projects and identify areas requiring immediate action ahead of the intake of new students in September.
At Politeknik Kota Kinabalu, Datuk Ts. Dr. Haji Aminuddin inspected several ongoing projects, including fibre optic cable repair works and the construction of a new pump pit.
The visit was also attended by KPT Deputy Secretary-General (Management and Development) Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Nor Azman Hassan, Director-General of the Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education Dr. Shamsuri Abdullah, and Politeknik Kota Kinabalu Director Md Nor Abdul Halim.
At UiTM Sabah Branch Kota Kinabalu Campus, he received a project development progress briefing from UiTM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development) Prof. Ts. Sr. Dr. Md Yusof Hamid and UiTM Sabah Branch Rector Prof. Madya Dr. Rozita @ Uji Mohammed before inspecting the implementation of projects around the campus.

He expressed satisfaction with the progress of the works, with several projects successfully completed according to schedule in preparation for the arrival of new students.
During the visit, KPT also reviewed several improvement proposals, including upgrading the campus entrance, providing new furniture, increasing student accommodation capacity and carrying out repair works on several buildings, including the auxiliary police office which requires further attention.
The visit also included the presentation of Job on Campus vouchers, contributions to Dapur Siswa MADANI volunteers, an engagement session with students undergoing industrial training and a photography session with staff and students from both institutions.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi, the monitoring visit reflects KPT’s continuous efforts to ensure higher education institutions provide safe, comfortable and conducive facilities for students and campus communities. – The Capital Post
