MINDEF Strengthens Defence Industry Partnership

SEMENYIH, Selangor, 8 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Defence Ministry (MINDEF) Secretary-General Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali conducted a working visit to Firm High Resources Sdn. Bhd. to assess the company’s capabilities in providing maintenance, repair and spare parts services, as well as logistics support for Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) assets.

The visit aimed to evaluate the readiness of the local defence industry in supporting the nation’s operational defence requirements in a sustainable and effective manner.

During the visit, Datuk Lokman reviewed the company’s technical capacity, operational facilities and expertise in maintaining defence assets while meeting strategic supply requirements.

The assessment also focused on service delivery efficiency, supply chain resilience and the ability of the local industry to ensure defence assets remain at an optimal level of operational readiness.

MINDEF reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with capable local companies to develop a competitive, resilient and sustainable defence industry ecosystem.

The ministry said the approach is in line with the aspirations of the National Defence Industry Policy (DIPN) 2026–2030, which aims to strengthen domestic industrial capacity, enhance the operational readiness of ATM assets and ensure the continuity of logistics support to reinforce Malaysia’s sovereignty and national security.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pertahanan Malaysia, the visit reflects the ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration with local industry players in supporting the long-term needs of the country’s defence sector. – The Capital Post
