Education Ministry secretary-general reviews school projects during Sarawak visit

KUCHING, 13 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education, YBhg. Dato’ Wan Hashim bin Wan Rahim, attended the Sarawak Integrity Day 2026 celebration at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching during his working visit to the state.

The event saw the launch of the School Integrity Friends Club (KRIS) Module, which was subsequently received by YBhg. Dato’ KSU from the Sarawak Integrity and Ombudsman Unit (UNIONS).

As part of the working visit, YBhg. Dato’ KSU also visited three schools – Sekolah Kebangsaan Astana, Sekolah Kebangsaan Encik Buyong and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tabuan Jaya – to monitor the implementation of Year One classroom projects, a new hostel building and maintenance works.

The monitoring was aimed at ensuring that the projects remained on track, met satisfactory performance standards and could be completed according to the scheduled timeline.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia, the visit reflects the ministry’s efforts to monitor the implementation of education infrastructure projects and ensure they are delivered according to schedule. – The Capital Post
