MOTAC Strengthens Strategy Ahead Of F1 Bahrain Grand Prix 2026

PUTRAJAYA, 14 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) is strengthening strategic preparations ahead of the Gulf Air Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix in Malaysia from 2 to 4 October 2026.

The second meeting of the Sub-Committee on Marketing, Promotion and Tourism, chaired by MOTAC Secretary-General YBhg. Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot, focused on several key developments ahead of the event.

Among the matters discussed was a proposal by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) to provide sales spaces around the Sepang International Circuit.

The meeting also reviewed updates to the Citrawarna Speed Festival and Malaysia International Craft Festival 2026 programmes, as well as plans for various activation programmes in conjunction with the F1 Bahrain Grand Prix.

These preparations are aimed at ensuring the F1 event not only promotes world-class motorsport but also serves as a catalyst for tourism, the local economy and Malaysia’s promotion as a preferred destination for international tourists.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pelancongan, Seni dan Budaya Malaysia, the ministry is continuing to strengthen strategic preparations and tourism-related initiatives surrounding the F1 event. – The Capital Post
