KKR honours engineering excellence and contributions to national development

KUALA LUMPUR, 24 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Works (KKR) recognised the contributions, excellence and innovation of Malaysia’s engineering fraternity at the Engineering Awards and Appreciation Ceremony organised by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (LJM).

Works Minister Yang Berhormat Dato’ Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi attended the ceremony held at Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur on 23 August 2026.

The ceremony served as a platform to recognise excellence, innovation and contributions by members of the engineering profession towards national development, while also acknowledging the role of the media and engineering organisations in supporting the advancement of the profession in Malaysia.

Among the awards presented were the Young Engineering Innovation Trophy, National Engineering Project Excellence Award (NEPEA), Special Mention International Engineering Award 2026, Anugerah Tokoh Muda Kejuruteraan Negara 2026 and Anugerah Tokoh Kejuruteraan Negara 2026.

Nanta also expressed his appreciation to members of the engineering fraternity for their commitment and expertise in ensuring the country’s infrastructure development continues to be carried out to high standards of quality, safety and sustainability.

The ceremony also featured the singing and waving of the Jalur Gemilang in conjunction with National Month celebrations, further fostering patriotism and a sense of togetherness among members of the engineering fraternity.
