SHAH ALAM, 27 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Defence is continuing to strengthen human capital development within the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) through the implementation of the Work-Based Learning (WBL) 2.0 Programme Cohort 2 at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), following the success of Cohort 1 involving 231 ATM personnel.
The launch of the Diploma WBL 2.0 Programme Cohort 2 was officiated by Deputy Secretary-General (Management) of the Ministry of Defence, Datin Roszanina Wahab, at the Seroja Multipurpose Hall, UiTM.
A total of 181 ATM personnel are participating in three programmes under Cohort 2 — Diploma in Culinary Arts, Diploma in Office Management and Technology, and Diploma in Sports Studies.
The WBL programme is an initiative by the Ministry of Defence that recognises experience and competencies gained throughout service as a pathway towards obtaining academic qualifications.

The approach not only enhances the competencies of ATM personnel but also strengthens their preparations for pursuing second careers after completing their service.
The strategic collaboration with UiTM continues to expand access to education for ATM personnel while reflecting the Ministry of Defence’s commitment to developing skilled, knowledgeable and competitive human capital.
