KUALA LIPIS, 6 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), in collaboration with the Malaysia Energy Literacy Program (MELP) and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), organised a community programme to strengthen public awareness of electricity safety and energy efficiency.
Held at the Dewan Terbuka, Kampung Mela, Mukim Cheka 1, the Malaysia Energy Literacy Program (MELP) community programme was officiated by PETRA Deputy Minister YB Dato’ Sri Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Mohamad on 5 September.
The programme focused on improving community understanding of electricity safety, energy efficiency and digital facilities, including the myTNB application and electricity bill information.
The event also saw TNB present Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions to the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Islam Al-Ihsan, Kampung Gua community and Mukim Cheka 1 community.

Also present were PETRA Deputy Secretary-General (Energy) YBrs. Puan Mareena binti Mahpudz, TNB Chief Retail Officer Datuk Kamal Arifin bin A. Rahman, TNB Chief Regulatory Stakeholder Management Officer Puan Shahannom binti Izham and Kuala Lipis District Officer YH Dato’ Mohd Hafizi bin Ibrahim.
Senior officials from PETRA, the Energy Commission (ST), TNB and members of the local community also attended the programme.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Peralihan Tenaga dan Transformasi Air, the programme was held on 5 September 2026 as part of efforts to bring energy-related information and services closer to communities. – The Capital Post
