National Forum in Kulim Addresses Unity, Social Harmony and Security

KULIM, 11 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail attended the National Discourse on Surah Al-Hujurat in Kulim, Kedah, on Saturday (10 October), bringing attention to national unity, social harmony and security amid challenges involving racial and religious polarisation.

The programme began with a National Harmony Roundtable Discussion (RTD), which examined issues surrounding polarisation and racial and religious sentiments, focusing on efforts to strengthen social cohesion and maintain national stability.

The afternoon programme featured two discussion sessions exploring the principles of Surah Al-Hujurat and their relevance to governance and community relations.

The first session, titled “Fiqh Kenegaraan dalam Surah Al-Hujurat”, examined principles of statehood and governance from the perspective of the Quranic chapter.

The second session, “Adab Bermasyarakat Berpedoman Surah Al-Hujurat”, focused on social conduct and ethical values that can guide interactions within society.

The programme continued with a dialogue involving two ministers, addressing identity politics, community harmony and national security.

A book titled “Adab Bermasyarakat Berpedoman Surah Al-Hujurat” was also launched by Saifuddin Nasution and Federal Territories Mufti Tuan Haji Ahmad Fauwaz Fadzil.

The publication highlights principles of social conduct based on Surah Al-Hujurat, complementing the programme’s discussions on respectful relationships and harmonious coexistence.

Also present were Home Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Security) Dato’ Haji Abdul Halim Abdul Rahman and representatives from various government departments and agencies.
