KUALA LUMPUR, 19 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Ministry of Communications Secretary-General and Chairman of the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) Working Committee, Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, today inspected the National Day Parade rehearsal at Merdeka Stadium.
The rehearsal involved the 2026 HKHM Economic Component contingents as preparations continue for the national celebration.
Abdul Halim stressed that HKHM 2026 is not merely an annual event, but also serves as a platform to strengthen the narrative of unity, foster patriotic spirit and enhance public understanding of the Malaysia MADANI aspiration, “Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”.
The 2026 National Day Parade will involve 1,859 participants from 43 contingents under the Economic Component, reflecting the strength, diversity and unity of the country’s economic sectors.

He also expressed appreciation to the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), participating agencies and all participants for their commitment, discipline and team spirit in ensuring the preparations for HKHM 2026.
Also present were Senior Undersecretary (Management) and Secretary of the 2026 HKHM Working Committee, Datuk Aminurrahim Mohamed; Director-General of the National Department for Culture and Arts, Mohd Amran Mohd Haris; Undersecretary of the Management Services Division, Harun Ali; and Undersecretary of the Control and Compliance Division, Kamarudin Abdul Rani.
