KUALA LUMPUR, 11 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim stressed that science, technology and innovation (STI) must continue to serve as the main driver of the country’s economic solutions in facing global financial uncertainties and challenges, including the post-conflict energy crisis in West Asia.
According to information shared via the official Facebook page of Anwar Ibrahim, the government remains committed to empowering the national STI ecosystem through the implementation of several mission-based initiatives aimed at optimising resources, stimulating sustainable economic growth and accelerating the development of high-value innovations and technologies.
Anwar stated that all planning and execution efforts must be mobilised strategically and effectively to ensure Malaysia remains resilient amid the uncertainties of the global economic chain.

He also highlighted the importance of strengthening strategic synergy between the MADANI Government, the private sector and research and development (R&D) institutions to ensure research outcomes can be translated into tangible benefits for the rakyat and the nation.
