(The Capital Post)— Former Disney Channel actress Christy Carlson Romano has revealed that a recent medical screening returned a positive result indicating a possible cancer risk, prompting further tests to determine her condition.
The 41-year-old actress, known for her roles in the television series Even Stevens and as the voice of Kim Possible, shared the update in an emotional video posted on social media. She said the screening suggested a potential presence of cancer and that she plans to undergo additional medical examinations, including a PET scan, to confirm the diagnosis.
Romano explained that she decided to take the screening test partly because of her family’s medical history, noting that both her parents had previously battled cancer and her grandmother also died from the disease.
In the same update, she said her husband had also undergone screening but received negative results. The actress acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding her own results but expressed hope that, if confirmed, the condition could be treated effectively.

Romano also used the moment to encourage the public to prioritise regular health screenings, stressing that early detection can significantly improve treatment outcomes.
