AMPANG: A 27-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly attacking a male doctor after a traffic accident along Jalan Kolam Air Lama here.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the 67-year-old doctor was driving alone when he realised that another vehicle had hit his car from behind at about 10.30am on Monday (March 20).
“When he reached a petrol station near Ampang Point, a car blocked his car. The driver of the other car got out, opened the door of the doctor’s car and hit him in the face before kicking him,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (March 21).
ACP Mohamad Farouk added that the incident was recorded on video, and said that the footage has since gone viral.
“The victim suffered various injuries due to the assault,” he said.

ACP Mohamad Farouk said the suspect was detained after giving his statement at the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters at about 9.45pm on Monday.
“He has no prior criminal record and his urine test came back negative for drugs. He will be remanded for further investigation,” he added.
ACP Mohamad Farouk then said that case is classified under Section 323 and 506 of the Penal Code. – The Star
