Defence Ministry, Melaka strengthen civil-military cooperation through 2026 carnival

MELAKA, 31 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Defence Minister YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin and Melaka Chief Minister YAB Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf bin Yusoh officiated the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Melaka 2026 Carnival at Dataran 1Malaysia, Klebang.

The carnival, held from 29 to 31 August 2026, is jointly organised by the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Melaka State Government to strengthen civil-military synergy through defence capability exhibitions, military demonstrations, healthcare services and career opportunities with the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).

In line with the Total Defence (HANRUH) aspiration, the event also aims to enhance public understanding that safeguarding the country’s security and sovereignty is a shared responsibility.

Also present were Chief of the Armed Forces, Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Haji Malek Razak bin Sulaiman; Melaka State Secretary, YB Datuk Wira Salhah binti Salleh; Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence, Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali; Service Chiefs; and members of the Melaka State Executive Council (EXCO).

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pertahanan Malaysia, the CIMIC Melaka 2026 Carnival serves as a platform to strengthen civil-military cooperation and public awareness of national defence. – The Capital Post
