MANJUNG, 4 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Maslan today visited the Manjung District Engineer’s Office to review departmental operations, monitor the progress of infrastructure projects and assess the delivery of services by the Public Works Department (JKR) in the district.
During the visit, Ahmad also extended his condolences to the families of the victims involved in the tree-falling incident in Janda Baik, Pahang.
He expressed hope that the families would be granted strength and resilience during this difficult time, while praying for the victims to be blessed and placed among the righteous.
Ahmad also conveyed his appreciation to all government agencies, security personnel, rescue teams and other parties involved for their swift response in managing the incident and assisting those affected.
He stressed that public safety remains the government’s priority and called for continuous monitoring of high-risk areas, particularly during periods of unpredictable weather, to reduce the likelihood of similar incidents.

The working visit also provided an opportunity for the Deputy Minister to receive briefings on the district office’s organisational structure, departmental functions and the progress of ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects in Manjung.
He was also briefed on the challenges faced in project implementation and infrastructure maintenance before touring several key divisions, including the Roads Division, Administration Division and Building Division, to gain a better understanding of current operations and operational requirements.
Ahmad emphasised the importance of close coordination between the Ministry of Works (KKR), Perak JKR and the Manjung District JKR to ensure all infrastructure projects and maintenance works are implemented according to approved specifications, schedules and allocations.
