PUTRAJAYA, 4 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia and the United States reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral security cooperation during a courtesy visit by United States Department of State Assistant Secretary for Arms Control, Deterrence and Stability Thomas DiNanno to the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN).
Thomas DiNanno met with Deputy Home Affairs Secretary-General (Security) Datuk Hj. Abdul Halim Abdul Rahman in a high-level meeting that reflected the close diplomatic ties between the two countries and their shared commitment to promoting regional peace, stability and security.
The meeting also served as a platform for both sides to exchange views on issues of mutual interest, including maritime security, current political developments, and international enforcement efforts to combat crime and drug abuse.
The Malaysian delegation included Public Security and Order Division Secretary Datuk Zulkifli Abidin; Deputy Director of the Maritime Security and Surveillance Division, First Admiral Datuk Che Engku Suhaimi Che Engku Daik; Deputy Director (Cyber Crime Investigation) of the Commercial Crime Investigation Department, DCP Dato’ Shamsul Amar Ramli; International Division Secretary Mohd Azlan Razali; NSO MAPO Division Secretary Marweena Manan; and Strategic and International Division Director of the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), Zalikha Moslim.

The Home Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international cooperation and strategic partnerships with global counterparts to safeguard national security, protect public well-being and uphold Malaysia’s national interests.
