A large group of media personnel were also seen setting up at the main entrance to catch a glimpse of the Jeneri assemblyman as he is brought in.

A number of General Operations Forces personnel armed with rifles could be seen standing within the compound of the court complex.

Traffic Investigations and Enforcement Department personnel had closed the main roads leading into the complex by 7.30am Tuesday.

A number of plain clothes police personnel were also sighted within the compound.

His political secretary Hilmi Abd Wahab said that at 2.30am, there was a knock on Muhammad Sanusi’s hotel room door and there were 20 policemen outside the room.

“He was then ordered out of his room, brought downstairs and ushered into an MPV, which we were told was headed to the Gombak district police headquarters,” he was quoted saying.

It is believed that Muhammad Sanusi will be charged due his statement that had allegedly insulted the Selangor royal institution.

He had issued an apology to the Sultan of Selangor on Friday (July 14).
