Karnival Agrikomoditi MADANI Brings Government Initiatives Closer To Sarikei Community

SARIKEI, SARAWAK, 15 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Karnival Agrikomoditi MADANI in Sarikei is providing a platform for the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (KPK) and its agencies to engage directly with local communities, particularly smallholders, agrocommodity entrepreneurs, youths and residents.

Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities YB Dato’ Sri Huang Tiong Sii welcomed Minister of Plantation and Commodities YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad upon her arrival to officiate the carnival at Dewan Sentral, Sarikei, today.

The carnival provides the public with information on policies, initiatives, services and facilities available within the agrocommodity sector.

Various activities were held throughout the carnival, including exhibitions and sales of agrocommodity products, technology and mechanisation demonstrations, career and training opportunities, information on BUDI Agrikomoditi and community activities.

The event also saw the launch of Skuad Agrikomoditi Sarikei, as well as the presentation of assistance comprising oil palm mechanisation equipment, food baskets for smallholders and incentives for pepper and cocoa growers.

The carnival reflects KPK’s continued commitment to engaging directly with communities and ensuring that development of the agrocommodity sector delivers direct benefits to the people, particularly smallholders and entrepreneurs in Sarawak.
