TAIPING, 5 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), through the Perak Department of Trade Union Affairs (JHEKS), organised a community-focused corporate social responsibility programme in Taiping featuring health, welfare, education and social support activities.
The 2026 JHEKS Perak Community Outreach CSR Programme was held at the Zoo Pavilion, Zoo Taiping & Night Safari on 3 October and officiated by KESUMA Secretary-General Datuk Haji Azman bin Mohd Yusof.
The programme brought together JHEKS, trade unions and the local community through activities including a five-kilometre fun run, aerobics, free health screenings, a blood donation campaign and counselling services under the “Healing Corner” initiative.
Other activities included government agency exhibitions, a colouring competition, Jualan Rahmah, free engine oil changes and haircuts, charity sales and a lucky draw.
Bakul Rahmah contributions were also presented to those in need, while persons with disabilities and orphans were among the groups involved in the programme.

In his speech, Azman highlighted changes in the world of work, including technological developments, digitalisation and the growing need for new skills.
He said trade unions should continue adapting to these changes while protecting workers’ rights and welfare and contributing to a positive and harmonious working environment.
The programme also strengthened cooperation among KESUMA, JHEKS, trade unions, government agencies, private-sector organisations, volunteers and the local community.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Sumber Manusia, the initiative was aimed at promoting social responsibility while extending welfare and community support to various groups in Taiping – The Capital Post
