KUALA LUMPUR, 29 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Works (KKR) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring consultancy fees for engineers remain fair, relevant and aligned with the evolving needs of Malaysia’s construction industry.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Kerja Raya Malaysia, Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Maslan addressed the issue during Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat while responding to a question from Tanjong Manis MP Datuk Ir. Yusuf Abd. Wahab on the review of the Engineers Scale of Fees.
He said the ministry is currently undertaking the review process by taking into account feedback from various stakeholders to ensure the revised fee structure balances the interests of the government, engineering consultants and the quality delivery of national development projects.

The deputy minister added that the implementation of the revised fee rates will only proceed after all evaluation and approval processes have been completed.
KKR said it will continue working closely with relevant agencies to ensure any new fee structure is introduced in a transparent and orderly manner while strengthening governance and enhancing the implementation of government development projects. – The Capital Post.
