MANJUNG, Perak, 4 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan conducted a working visit to inspect the implementation of infrastructure development and maintenance projects in Manjung on Monday, reaffirming the MADANI Government’s commitment to delivering quality public infrastructure for the benefit of the people.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Kerja Raya Malaysia, the visit was carried out alongside officials from the Ministry of Works (KKR) and the Manjung District Public Works Department (JKR).
During the visit, the delegation reviewed the progress of road, bridge, public building and education infrastructure projects currently being implemented across the district.
JKR Manjung is responsible for maintaining 168.837 kilometres of Federal Roads and 174.06 kilometres of State Roads. As of July 2026, RM8.14 million has been allocated for Federal Road maintenance works, covering road resurfacing, drainage systems, road markings and bridge maintenance.

The ministry also highlighted the ongoing RM8.04 million project to replace the FT71/17/300 bridge. In addition, the Federal Government has approved two projects under the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMKe-13) Rolling Plan 1, namely the RM32.2 million replacement of the FT60/42/50 Sungai Beruas Bridge and preliminary works worth RM5 million for the upgrading of the Tanjung Malim–Lumut Highway.
In the public buildings sector, eight Federal Building projects valued at RM32.3 million are currently underway, including the construction and upgrading of educational facilities as well as improvement works at the Pantai Remis Fire and Rescue Station.
The visit also highlighted the implementation of the Program Cakna MADANI initiative, which includes the construction of 15 additional Year One classrooms for the 2027 school session at SK Seri Manjung, SK Seri Samudera and SK Nakhoda Muhammad Taib.
Meanwhile, RM1.2 million has been allocated for two Federal building maintenance projects involving the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office under the Attorney General’s Chambers, as well as apron upgrading and drainage improvement works at Hospital Seri Manjung.
KKR said it will continue to ensure that all infrastructure projects are implemented according to schedule, meet safety and quality standards, and deliver tangible benefits to the people while supporting local economic development. – The Capital Post
