MELAKA, 24 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Datuk Seri Hj. Mohd Khalid Hj. Ismail was today conferred the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (D.G.S.M.), which carries the title ‘Datuk Seri’, at the Balai Istiadat Seri Negeri in Ayer Keroh.
The investiture ceremony for Melaka state honours, appointments, medals and decorations was held in conjunction with the 77th birthday celebrations of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka, Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam.
Also attending the ceremony was the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka’s wife, Toh Puan Datuk Wira (Dr.) Hajah Asmah binti Abdul Rahman.
Among those also receiving the D.G.S.M. were Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek, Chief Judge of Malaya Datuk Seri Hashim Hamzah, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Kpj Abd. Halim Aman and Royal Malaysian Air Force Chief General Tan Sri Datuk Seri Hj. Muhamad Norazlan Aris, along with two other recipients.
The ceremony also saw Criminal Investigation Department Director CP Datuk Wira M. Kumar S. Muthuvelu and Melaka Police Chief DCP Datuk Wira Dzulkhairi Mukhtar receive the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (D.C.S.M.), which carries the title ‘Datuk Wira’.
Meanwhile, Director of the Logistics and Technology Department CP Datuk Redzuan Abd. Hamid was among 13 recipients conferred the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (D.M.S.M.), which carries the title ‘Datuk’.
Five other senior Royal Malaysia Police officers received the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (D.P.S.M.), which carries the title ‘Datuk’. They were Deputy Director (Integrity) of the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department, Bukit Aman, DCP Datuk Thaipul Bahri Mokhtar; Deputy Head of the Commercial Crime Investigation Department’s Forgery/Syndicated Investment Crime Investigation Unit, SAC Datuk Marvin Tan Seng Kian; Assistant Director (E8A), Bukit Aman Special Branch, SAC Datuk Ahmad Norisham Ma’arus; and Sarawak Brigade Commander, General Operations Force, SAC Datuk Lim Bak Phai.

The D.G.S.M. is the third-highest state honour in Melaka and carries the title ‘Datuk Seri’. It is awarded to individuals who have rendered outstanding service to the state and hold positions of high standing.
A total of 451 recipients were conferred various state honours and decorations after receiving the approval of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka. The second session of the investiture ceremony is scheduled for 26 August.
Also present were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh, State Secretary Datuk Wira Salhah Salleh, Melaka State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Wira Hj. Ibrahim Durum, members of the Melaka state executive council and Lendu assemblyman Datuk Seri Utama Hj. Sulaiman Md Ali.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Polis Diraja Malaysia (Royal Malaysia Police), the ceremony also featured the presentation of various honours to senior police officers. – The Capital Post
