KUCHING, 1 November 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) brought welfare assistance, family support and counselling services closer to communities through its Santuni KASIH KPWKM 2026 programme at Plaza Merdeka, Kuching, Sarawak.
The programme, which entered its second day on 31 October, was officiated by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri.
The initiative brought together departments and agencies under KPWKM, providing visitors with direct access to information on welfare assistance, family counselling, women’s empowerment opportunities and other support services.
In her address, Nancy emphasised that the effectiveness of government programmes should be measured by the tangible benefits delivered to the public.
She reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to strengthening access to social protection, income-generating opportunities and care services for women, children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and families requiring assistance.
The event also marked the closing of National Counselling Month 2026, themed Counselling in the Digital Era: Advancing Well-being, with nearly 150 registered counsellors from across Malaysia participating.
