KUALA LUMPUR, 31 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – The KENDALI MADANI programme aims to train 5,000 participants over three years to strengthen Malaysia’s professional care workforce through technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and skills certification.

The initiative was launched by Dato’ Seri Dr Wan Azizah Dr Wan Ismail, wife of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, at the Parliament building on 29 October.

The programme focuses on improving the competencies, professionalism and formal recognition of care workers, particularly those providing services to persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens.

The launch also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Department of Skills Development (JPK), under the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), and Yayasan MyPrihatin.

The collaboration aims to strengthen skills development, TVET training and professional certification within the care sector.

Through the Malaysian Skills Certification System (SPKM), experienced care workers may obtain formal recognition of their existing skills under the Recognition of Prior Achievement (PPT) pathway, subject to JPK requirements.

The initiative is expected to improve employability, expand career opportunities and strengthen public confidence in the quality of care services.

Yayasan MyPrihatin also presented collaboration appointment letters to 13 strategic agencies, including higher education institutions, research organisations, professional bodies and implementation partners.
