KUALA LUMPUR, 28 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), through SME Corp. Malaysia, held a Budget 2027 engagement session with business chambers and associations involved in entrepreneur and micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) development to formulate strategies for the growth of the country’s entrepreneurial sector.
Officiated by Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong, the session served as a strategic platform to understand the needs, challenges and priorities of MSMEs ahead of the preparation of Budget 2027.
Held on 27 August under the theme “Resilient MSMEs, Building a Sustainable Future”, the session highlighted continued support for entrepreneurs through the Hebatkan Perniagaan Malaysia (HPM) initiative to ensure businesses not only get started but are also able to grow to higher levels.
The inputs gathered will be used in the preparation of a more targeted Budget 2027, ensuring national resources help strengthen the competitiveness of local entrepreneurs in line with the Budget 2027 theme, “Malaysia MADANI: Menggapai Di Langit, Mengakar Di Bumi”.

Also present were KUSKOP secretary-general Dato’ Sri Khairul Dzaimee Daud, SME Corp. Malaysia chairman Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, SME Corp. Malaysia chief executive officer Rizal Dato’ Nainy, as well as representatives from relevant ministries, agencies and stakeholders.
