KUALA LUMPUR, 25 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) is looking to strengthen access to financing for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through closer engagement with industry players and private-sector partners.
A financing and growth engagement session with Planworth was held on 24 September, bringing together representatives from MSMEs, suppliers, service providers, government project contractors, government-linked companies (GLCs) and the private sector.
The session provided a platform to hear directly from entrepreneurs on challenges involving working capital, contract execution, cash flow management and business expansion.
Attention was also given to Planworth’s proposed Supply Chain Financing platform, which is aimed at widening financing access for MSMEs involved in government, GLC and private-sector supply chains.

KUSKOP said strategic cooperation between the government and private sector is important to ensure MSMEs not only gain better access to financing, but are also able to expand, improve competitiveness and continue contributing to the national economy.
The ministry said it would continue strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem while ensuring the needs and concerns of MSMEs remain part of policy and programme discussions.
