MELAKA, 9 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – National Unity Minister YB Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang attended the International Interfaith Peace Conference (IIPC) 2026, organised by the Allied Coordinating Committee of Islamic NGOs (ACCIN) and officiated by Melaka Governor Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali Bin Mohd Rustam.
The conference brought together religious leaders, policymakers and civil society representatives from various countries to strengthen dialogue, mutual understanding and cooperation towards peace and social harmony.
Held under the theme “Melaka and Malaysia as a Meeting Point of Faith, Culture, Diversity and Harmony Towards Cohesive Nation Building”, the conference highlighted the importance of diversity and unity in Malaysia’s nation-building efforts.
The National Unity Ministry said nation-building goes beyond developing infrastructure and the economy, stressing that greater emphasis must also be placed on nurturing a society that respects differences, creates space for understanding and chooses to stand together despite its diversity.

In line with the aspirations of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13), nation-building remains among the country’s strategic priorities, with religious, cultural and ethnic diversity to be preserved as a strength that shapes Malaysia’s national identity.
Also present was National Unity Ministry Secretary-General YBhg. Dato Haslina binti Abdul Hamid, together with senior management of the ministry.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Perpaduan Negara, the conference reflects Malaysia’s continued commitment to strengthening interfaith dialogue, social harmony and national cohesion. – The Capital Post
