Malaysia leads asean digital direction talks through ado 2027 workshop

PUTRAJAYA, Thursday 15 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia, through the Ministry of Digital Malaysia as the lead country together with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) as research partner, has organised the 1st Workshop of the ASEAN Digital Outlook 2027 (ADO 2027) Phase 1, held virtually, marking a key step in strengthening regional digital cooperation.

The workshop was officiated by the Deputy Secretary-General (Strategy & Management) of the Ministry of Digital, Encik Shakib Ahmad Shakir bin Jamaluddin, representing the ministry’s leadership in advancing ASEAN’s digital development agenda.

The session aimed to introduce the ASEAN Digital Outlook 2027 (ADO 2027) framework, present and validate the research methodology developed by ERIA, and gather feedback and input from ASEAN member states on the content and direction of the first phase of the study.
