KPM-UTP MoU boosts gifted education under PPC programme

SERI ISKANDAR, PERAK, Monday 15 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – A strategic milestone in Malaysia’s education landscape was marked with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Pendidikan Pintar Cerdas (PPC) between the Ministry of Education Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, held at the Undercroft of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in Seri Iskandar, Perak.

The MoU signing ceremony was officiated by Wan Hashim bin Wan Rahim, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education, and Mohamed Firouz Asnan, and was witnessed by Zakiah binti Shafiee and Benjamin Colin Cosh.

According to information shared via the official Facebook page of Bahagian Pengurusan Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (BPSBP), the collaboration aims to strengthen the implementation of the Pendidikan Pintar Cerdas (PPC) programme, which is anchored at the Akademi Sains Pendang (ASP) as a national hub for gifted education excellence.

Among the key aspirations of the partnership is the development of future thinkers, scientists, innovators and leaders who excel academically while also being capable of generating solutions to complex global challenges, in line with the Malaysia MADANI framework.

The MoU is expected to further enhance Malaysia’s efforts in transforming gifted education and strengthening the nation’s position as a regional leader in talent development and world-class human capital formation – The Capital Post
