SHANGHAI, 24 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia is represented by 22 competitors across 21 skills at the WorldSkills Competition Shanghai 2026, as the country’s delegation joins more than 1,400 young skilled professionals from over 70 countries and regions at the global event.
Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan and Human Resources Ministry (KESUMA) Secretary-General Datuk Haji Azman bin Mohd Yusof attended the opening ceremony in Shanghai in support of the Malaysian contingent. Bernama also reported Khairul Firdaus’ attendance at the event.
Malaysia’s 22 participants are competing in 21 skills, a participation figure also recorded by the Malaysia Skills Competition Council under the Department of Skills Development.

The WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 competition runs from 22 to 27 September and features 64 skills, providing an international platform for young professionals to demonstrate technical and vocational expertise.
