JOHOR BAHRU, 4 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia and Singapore reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the smooth implementation of the Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link project during the 16th Bilateral Committee meeting held in Johor on 3 September.
The meeting discussed the latest developments of the project and matters related to its ongoing implementation.
The Malaysian side was jointly chaired by Transport Ministry Secretary-General YBhg. Dato’ Seri Jana Santhiran Muniayan and Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) Director-General Encik Ahmad Radhi bin Maarof.
The Bilateral Committee serves as an important platform for both countries to monitor the project’s progress, address implementation issues and facilitate the continuous resolution of matters related to the RTS Link.

Both governments will continue strengthening close cooperation to ensure the project proceeds smoothly.
The RTS Link is expected to provide improved mobility options for thousands of daily commuters while further strengthening socio-economic ties between Malaysia and Singapore.
