KUALA LUMPUR, 12 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia and the Republic of Korea (ROK) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the transport and logistics sectors, including the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies.
The commitment was highlighted during the 6th Malaysia–Republic of Korea Transport Working Committee (JKP) Meeting held on 10 and 11 August 2026 in Kuala Lumpur.
The meeting was co-chaired by MOT Deputy Secretary-General (Policy), YBhg. Dato’ Normah binti Osman, and Deputy Minister (Transport and Logistics) at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), Republic of Korea, Park Jae Soon.
The meeting served as a platform to strengthen bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics, while exploring opportunities to leverage AI and the latest technologies.

The participation of key agencies and industry players from both countries also helped strengthen efforts to translate government-to-government (G2G) cooperation into mutually beneficial business-to-business (B2B) opportunities.
The ROK delegation also undertook technical visits to KL Sentral and the Sentul Maintenance Depot to observe passenger flow management, intermodal connectivity and rolling stock asset maintenance practices in Malaysia.
The Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT) and MOLIT remain committed to expanding cooperation in transport safety, low-carbon green transportation and the exploration of new initiatives in the future.
