BUKIT KAYU HITAM, 10 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – Final preparations for the official launch of the new road alignment connecting the Bukit Kayu Hitam Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex in Malaysia and the Sadao Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex in Thailand were further strengthened today ahead of the ceremony tomorrow.
Secretary-General of the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN), Datuk Dr. Awang Alik bin Jeman, personally inspected the site’s readiness together with the Thai delegation to ensure that all coordination, logistics and operational arrangements for the ceremony are carried out smoothly.
The inspection also involved reviewing the final preparations to ensure the successful implementation of the programme, which reflects the close cooperation between Malaysia and Thailand in strengthening bilateral ties and facilitating cross-border movement.

He was accompanied by Deputy Secretary-General (Management) of KDN, Puan Ainah binti Mohd Soon; Secretary of the Management Services Division, Ahmad Nizam bin Norali; Secretary of the Development Division, Ahmad Fuad bin Apandi; Kedah Police Chief CP Datuk Adzli bin Abu Shah; Deputy Kedah Police Chief DCP Baderulhisham bin Baharudin, as well as senior officers from the ministry, departments and related agencies.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN), the close cooperation between Malaysia and Thailand in preparing for the programme reflects the commitment of both countries to strengthening bilateral relations and facilitating cross-border movement for the well-being of the people. -The Capital Post.
