KUCHING, 10 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – Deputy Inspector-General of Police DIG Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay has called on personnel of the Royal Malaysia Police’s Special Branch in Sarawak to maintain professionalism, strengthen integrity and remain proactive in identifying and addressing national security threats.
He delivered the message during his working visit to the Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters, where he met with members of the Special Branch in the state.
In his address, Ayob Khan emphasised that the Special Branch remains a key pillar of the Royal Malaysia Police’s intelligence function, playing a vital role in safeguarding national security and protecting the country’s sovereignty.
He urged all Special Branch personnel to continue carrying out their duties with professionalism, integrity and a proactive approach in detecting and managing any potential security threats.
The Deputy Inspector-General of Police also stressed the importance of strengthening intelligence capabilities through the use of technology and modern analysis methods, while upholding the values of integrity, accountability and confidentiality.

He reminded personnel to avoid any form of corruption, abuse of power or misconduct that could tarnish the reputation of the force.
Concluding his address, Ayob Khan called on Special Branch members to continue embracing the values of trust, loyalty, responsibility and professionalism, while continuously improving their competencies to ensure the unit remains relevant, respected and prepared to face increasingly dynamic security challenges.
The working visit also included a courtesy call on Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner DCP Saifullizan Ishak at the Guest Room of the Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters.
