KUALA LUMPUR, 5 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia and Türkiye are exploring ways to further strengthen defence cooperation, including defence diplomacy, capability development and the defence industry.
The discussions took place during a courtesy visit by newly appointed Turkish Ambassador to Malaysia H.E. Dr. Nevzat Uyanik to Defence Ministry Secretary-General YBhg. Datuk Lokman Hakim bin Ali at Wisma Pertahanan on 2 September.
The meeting also reviewed existing cooperation, including the operation of the Littoral Mission Ship Batch 2 (LMSB2) and UAS ANKA, which could serve as platforms for broader collaboration in technology, training and capability development for the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).
Malaysia remains committed to strengthening its strategic relationship with Türkiye as part of efforts to expand its defence network and enhance national defence capabilities.

Also present were the Defence Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Policy), Deputy Secretary-General (Development) and Secretary of the Policy and Strategic Planning Division.
