KANGAR, 5 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) has approved 12 tourism infrastructure upgrading projects in Perlis worth a total of RM6.605 million as of August 2026.
The initiatives are aimed at strengthening tourism facilities in the state while supporting the Visit Perlis 2024–2026 campaign and Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign.
MOTAC Deputy Secretary-General (Management) YBhg. Datuk Surrendren Sathasivam presented the mock cheque to Perlis State Secretary YB Dato’ Noor Azman bin Abdul Rahman, followed by an engagement session with federal and state agencies.
Also present were Deputy State Secretary (Development) YBrs. Encik Rusdi bin Yahya, Perlis Economic Planning Unit (BPEN) Secretary YBrs. Encik Hasan Hafizi bin Hanapi and MOTAC Perlis director YBrs. Encik Mohammad Faidzul bin Awang Bakar.

A monitoring visit involving project owner and implementing agencies, BPEN officers and MOTAC representatives was also conducted on 3 September to ensure the projects remain on track and are implemented according to plan.
The initiatives reflect continued cooperation between the Federal and Perlis state governments to strengthen tourism infrastructure and support the state’s tourism development.
