KUALA LUMPUR, 14 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) brought Malaysians closer to the country’s defence sector through a three-day exhibition at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), highlighting national preparedness, human capital development and community involvement.
Held from 10 to 12 September, the MINDEF exhibition provided visitors with greater insight into the ministry’s and Malaysian Armed Forces’ (ATM) roles, responsibilities and initiatives.
Among the key initiatives showcased were the Work-Based Learning (WBL) Programme, the Whole-of-Society Defence concept (HANRUH) and Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC).
The programmes highlighted Malaysia’s broader approach to national defence, encompassing preparedness, human capital development and public participation.
Visitors also took part in interactive activities including Kahoot quizzes, received briefings directly from personnel and had the opportunity to view and handle selected weapons displayed at the exhibition.

The activities were aimed at providing the public with a better understanding of the functions, capabilities and responsibilities of the defence sector in safeguarding Malaysia’s security and sovereignty.
Defence Minister YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin also visited the MINDEF booth and interacted with visitors.
Former Defence Minister Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan also toured the booth and viewed the exhibitions and activities.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Defence Malaysia, the exhibition served as a platform to bring the public closer to MINDEF and ATM while increasing awareness of Malaysia’s national defence approach. – The Capital Post
