PUTRAJAYA, 1 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – More than 100,000 visitors gathered at Dataran Putrajaya yesterday for the 2026 National Day celebrations, held under the theme “Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”.
The celebrations featured a variety of ceremonial activities, parades, performances and an aerial display, further enlivening the patriotic spirit and love for the country.
The event was graced by the presence of KDYMM SPB Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim and KDYMM SPB Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah, alongside Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim and members of the Cabinet.
Also present was Minister of Human Resources YB Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, together with Deputy Secretary-General (Operations) of the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) YBrs. Encik Sutekno bin Ahmad Belon and KESUMA officers.
The parade featured various segments reflecting the nation’s development aspirations, including nationhood, the creative industry, digital connectivity, public order and national security. Gema Inovasi MADANI, human graphic performances, marching bands, various assets and decorated vehicles also added to the festivities.
The celebrations continued with an aerial display involving the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM), as well as helicopters from the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM).

The event also featured the “Rentak MADANI, Paluan Tradisi” performance, highlighting arts, culture and heritage as important elements in strengthening Malaysia’s identity and national unity.
For KESUMA, the celebration provided an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of independence through togetherness, unity and harmony, which form the foundation of a prosperous nation.
The theme “Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati” is aligned with KESUMA’s commitment to strengthening public wellbeing through human capital development, quality employment opportunities, social protection and workforce skills development.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Sumber Manusia, the 2026 National Day celebrations reflected the importance of unity, harmony and shared prosperity in nation-building. – The Capital Post
