National Anti-Drug Day 2026 reinforces united fight against drugs

Kepala Batas, 28 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The National Anti-Drug Day 2026 celebration was held in Penang on Saturday, reaffirming the government’s commitment to tackling drug abuse through a comprehensive approach involving prevention, enforcement, treatment and rehabilitation.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN), the event was officiated by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Penang, TYT Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Ramli Ngah Talib, accompanied by Ministry of Home Affairs Secretary-General YBhg. Datuk Dr. Awang Alik Jeman and National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) Director-General YBhg. Dato’ Ruslin Jusoh.

Held under the theme “Drug Prevention is Everyone’s Responsibility”, the celebration highlighted the Ministry of Home Affairs’ continued efforts through AADK to strengthen community-based initiatives aimed at safeguarding public well-being and enhancing national security.

The programme featured the presentation of the Anti-Drug Squad Icon Award, the appointment of AADK Smart Synergy Partners and Media Partners, as well as the launch of the Anti-Drug Squad membership mock card.

The ministry stressed that combating the drug menace requires the active participation and commitment of all stakeholders, noting that drug abuse is not only a threat to individuals but also a national security issue that demands a collective response from society. – The Capital Post.
