Sepang 30 April 2026 (The Capital Post) – A Nepalese worker has been fined RM5,000 by the Magistrate’s Court here after pleading guilty to possessing obscene images of his former girlfriend on his mobile phone.

The 27-year-old man admitted to the offence, which was discovered during a police inspection at a workers’ hostel in Dengkil earlier this month. Authorities said the explicit material was found stored on his device during the operation.

He was charged under provisions of the law related to the possession of obscene content, which carries penalties including fines or imprisonment upon conviction.

During court proceedings, the accused did not contest the charge and requested leniency. The court subsequently imposed a fine of RM5,000, with a default jail term if the amount is not paid.
