New Framework Charts Future Skills for Communications Sector

KUALA LUMPUR, 6 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia has launched the Future Skills Framework for the Communications and Multimedia Sector (C&M FSF) to guide talent development and prepare graduates and workers for emerging jobs over the next five to 10 years.

Communications Minister Dato’ Seri Fahmi Fadzil launched the framework at Angkasapuri Kota Media alongside Higher Education Minister Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir and Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan.

The framework is intended to serve as a strategic reference for talent development in the communications and multimedia sector by aligning industry requirements with education and skills development.

It aims to help graduates and the existing workforce develop capabilities needed to respond to changing job requirements and future developments within the sector.

A strategic cooperation agreement was also formalised between the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Human Resource Development Corporation, TalentCorp Malaysia and the Government-Industry TVET Coordination Body.

The collaboration will support implementation of the C&M FSF through industry-based training and skills development initiatives.

Also present were Communications Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, Deputy Secretary-General (Telecommunications Infrastructure) Mano Verabathran and MCMC chairman Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din.
