TANAH MERAH, 18 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Deputy Works Minister Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad bin Maslan today officially handed over the newly constructed Sekolah Menengah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi Tanah Merah project in Tanah Merah, Kelantan, to Education Minister Yang Berhormat Puan Fadhlina binti Sidek.
The handover marks the completion of an education development project regarded as one of the Government’s strategic initiatives to strengthen the country’s education infrastructure.
Implemented by the Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia on behalf of the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM), the project was completed in accordance with contractual requirements and established technical, safety and quality standards.
The project reflects the Government’s commitment to ensuring public development projects are delivered efficiently and with integrity while providing the best value to the people.
The school features modern, comprehensive and conducive educational facilities to support teaching and learning, including academic blocks, laboratories and workshops, an administration building, boys’ and girls’ hostels, a dining hall, prayer hall, multipurpose hall, teachers’ quarters and other supporting facilities.
Ahmad said quality education infrastructure represents a long-term national investment in developing knowledgeable, highly skilled and competitive human capital.

He also expressed appreciation to all parties involved in the project, particularly KPM, JKR Kelantan, technical agencies, the state government, contractor Cakna Enterprise Sdn. Bhd. and the entire project team for their commitment throughout its implementation.
He stressed that projects under the supervision of the Ministry of Works (KKR) must not only be completed within the stipulated time and cost, but also meet high standards of quality, safety and sustainability to ensure long-term benefits for the people.
The handover is expected to contribute to the development of education in Kelantan by providing a conducive learning environment for high-achieving students from across the country.
The facilities will also support KPM’s efforts to expand access to quality education and nurture a generation with academic excellence, strong character, leadership capabilities and innovation in line with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Kerja Raya Malaysia, the project reflects the Government’s continued commitment to strengthening education infrastructure and delivering quality public development projects. – The Capital Post
