NRES honours agencies for contributions to environmental sustainability

PUTRAJAYA, 3 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) honoured departments and agencies under the ministry for their commitment, dedication and contributions towards advancing the country’s environmental sustainability agenda.

The appreciation certificate presentation, held on 2 September, was attended by Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister YB Dato’ Sri Arthur Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister YB Tuan Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, NRES Secretary-General YBhg. Datuk Wira Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin and NRES Deputy Secretary-General (Natural Resources) YBhg. Dato’ Khalid Mohamed.

Certificates were presented to the Corporate Communications Unit (UKK) for NRES’ achievement in securing the top position in social media.

The Peninsular Malaysia Forestry Department (JPSM), Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) and Biodiversity and Forestry Management Division (BPBP) were also recognised for their achievements in Forest Management and Environmental Impact under the Auditor-General’s Report (LKAN) 2022 Series 1.

The Department of Environment (JAS) received an appreciation certificate for its implementation of the Environmental Quality Monitoring Programme.

NRES said the recognition reflected the commitment and excellence of its departments and agencies in carrying out their responsibilities towards preserving natural resources and the environment for future generations.

Also present were senior officials from the ministry, departments and agencies.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Kelestarian Alam (NRES), the appreciation session recognised the contributions of departments and agencies in supporting the ministry’s environmental sustainability agenda. – The Capital Post
