SHAH ALAM, July 21, 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), has handed over six completed infrastructure projects worth RM83.46 million to the Selangor state government, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening water infrastructure resilience and coastal protection.
The handover ceremony was officiated by the Director-General of the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Malaysia, Datuk Ir. Mohamad Radzi Abdul Talib, who presented the completed projects to Selangor State Secretary Datuk Dr. Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin.
The ceremony was witnessed by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and PETRA Secretary-General Datuk Seri Mad Zaidi Mohd Karli, representing the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation.
The six completed projects comprise three coastal erosion control projects, one coastal conservation project, and two river flood mitigation projects, aimed at enhancing protection against flooding and coastal erosion while safeguarding lives, property and public well-being.

In addition, the Federal Government has approved 25 projects worth RM3.639 billion for Selangor under the First Rolling Plan of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Peralihan Tenaga dan Transformasi Air, the projects underscore PETRA’s and DID Malaysia’s continued commitment to strengthening disaster resilience, public safety and socioeconomic well-being in line with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI. – The Capital Post
