SINGAPORE, 10 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) achieved international recognition after winning the Malaysia Outreach Project of the Year – Communications award at the GovMedia Conference & Awards 2026.
The prestigious award was presented in recognition of PETRA’s high-impact communication initiative, PETRA Skuad: A Ministry in Action, which was launched in 2024 as a national outreach programme to strengthen public understanding of key infrastructure initiatives and government efforts.
Through a ground engagement approach and multi-platform storytelling, the programme has helped bridge the gap between infrastructure implementation and public awareness across several states, including Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Kelantan, Terengganu and Sabah.
The initiative reflects PETRA’s commitment towards promoting transparency and strengthening public confidence in managing critical sectors affecting communities, particularly water security and renewable energy transition.
